Week #38 April 29, 2019 Puerto Maldonado!

Week #38
April 29, 2019

Friends and family. How are you all!
This week has been really good. Not a whole lot of different things have happened this week. IM mostly just working a lot here cause we are still super new in the area and we opened this area up me and my comp. But its been good and full of hard work and lots of really nice people who are always willing to listen to here pretty much. Haha Its really different from being here and Sicuani. The people are all super different. In sicuani all were quechua speaking old women and now we have here just regular spanish speaking people both men and women haha. But i love it here. Its awesome and tons of people we have are progressing.
One kids name is Hanz, the missionaries have been teaching him for a while and he has even been tochurch a couple of times. WE taught him on Saturday, and we talked about the restoration!!! IT was awesome!! At first he didnt seemed to be listening or anything, but we asked questions later to see if he understood. HE DID!! Haha slow going but it worked out in the end.
Saturday in our whole zone we had 4 baptisms, we went to one of them and it was soo awesome. We helped them set up alittle in the beginning. While there, We looked at the font as it was filling up, the water was straight up red and filthy haha. KINd of a weird experience when all of a sudden it comes to your mind again, oh shoot, im not in the US anymore haha. But it cleared alittle bit for the baptism haha. But The whole thing was super awesome and the two little kids that were baptized were super happy and super cute little ones haha. On sunday we took one of our investigators to church. Her name is Tania and shes 17 years old. Her cousin and aunt are members so they have been helping her out alot. A lot of the investigators here are part member families. Which means that they have members who are both members and non members. And that is super cool. SO recently we have been working a lot to find those families.

So recently I have been struggling with the language again. I was doing good in Sicuani but this week here was just super hard for me. I was just seriously struggling to speak and teach this week. But two things have been helping me alot. One is the prayer, i know that when we pray and ask for help form god in the times of need, he will help us and deliver us from those times. Another thing is the scripture in Ether 12. It talks about our weaknesses and how they are given to us to make us humble, and when we are humble god will help us to make our weaknesses our new found strengths. That is one thing i am doing this week. I love you all and know you are all doing great at home, on missions, going to school or just relaxing. Keep doing the good things and God will bless you. BYE!!
